Types of Centrifugal Pumps

Centrifugal pumps are available in Horizontal / Vertical configurations with single stage / multi stage options. Various standard sizes from ½” to 6” are available with different material options like SS 304, SS 316, SS 316L etc. depending upon application requirements. Pumps can be available with Closed impeller or Semi Open impeller.

Operating Principle

Primary operating principle of centrifugal pump is conversion of mechanical energy into kinetic energy by rotating impeller. The liquid enters the pump impeller along or near to the rotating axis and is accelerated by the impeller, flowing radially outward into a diffuser or volute chamber (casing), from where it exits into the downstream piping system.
